This book was ok. I think the summary blurb left me with too high of expectations. It was a very interesting and well written book. I know that some have claimed this is "Harry Potter for grown ups," but I didn't get that impression at all, minus the school for magic and magical sporting game. Maybe because I was expecting more about the magic school (probably from the Harry Potter comparisons), I did not like that Quentin's time at Brakebills College for Magical Pedagogy seemed to fly by. I wanted more details about his life there, his friends there, his classes, or his professors. The book was like a brief snapshot of each of these things without really delving too deep into any of them. After graduation, the story became slightly more interesting but only seemed to drag from there. And the ending- wtf. They were all idiots, that's all I have to say without giving anything away.
